PurposeThis page contains information about the data protection training and briefings that the Records Management Section offers. It also contains resources for practitioners and University staff to use to help raise awareness and refresh existing knowledge of data protection in the University. Briefings and trainingThe Records Management Section offer a range of briefings and training courses on data protection issues. Choose from attendance at our organised training sessions or contact us to arrange a specialised briefing for your area. Briefings can be arranged to discuss any aspect of data protection and can also be combined with presentations on freedom of information or records management issues. The briefing may be specially organised to discuss only data protection issues or it can take place as part of a wider school meeting or existing departmental training session. The length of time you choose to allocate for briefings can vary from 15 minutes to an hour and is very flexible. For example, it can be comprised of a short 10 minute presentation with 20 minutes for questions & answers or vice versa. Data protection postersPrint out this poster and display it in your area to remind staff of the 5 key points.Information management matters leafletThe information management matters leaflet is distributed by HR to all new staff. Other staff may find it useful as it provides a brief introduction to freedom of information, data protection and records management issues and highlights the 5 key points for each topic.
