Remit and Membership of the Group
Remit (with target dates):
- To provide an initial report on the prospective implications of the
legislation for the University covering access to information, exempt
information, enforcement and historical records, including the impact on
existing records (to which the new legislation will give access) (by 16
November 2001)
- To consider the case for, and prepare an outline job description for, a
post of Records Manager, possibly to be located in SG2 (to be produced by a
sub- group) and make recommendations to VP Field and Mr Cornish (by 1
November 2001).
- To produce a draft records management policy document for consideration by
the Central Management Group (by 31st January 2002)
- To monitor and report on the progress of the bill, the effect of changes
and the commencement timetable (ongoing 2001/2002)
- To report on the implications of the two codes of practice mentioned in
part 6 of the Bill (Code of Practice as to functions under the Act, and Code
of Practice as to the keeping, management and destruction of records) (to be
decided once Codes are published).
- To oversee the development of and revisions to a project plan for UoE FOI
compliance (ongoing 2002-08)
- To provide an adjudication mechanism for disclosures made under the Act
(ongoing)
